“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (Jn. 1. 1,14).

The Word is “Logos” or the “Word of God”. Everything in creation came into existence through the Word of God. There was not anything made that was not made through him…Jesus, the Christ. And slightly over 2,000 years ago, Jesus stepped down from his royal throne to become an infant, born of the virgin Mary. We know that his ultimate purpose was to give his life, shed his blood, for the remission of sin in the world. He died once, for all!

While the death, burial, and resurrection are all important, Jesus did not stop there. He ascended into heaven, and is again seated at the right hand of the Father, and he is our Intercessor. Plus, after ascending he sent the Holy Spirit to complete the work. The importance of his earthly life is the fact that he spent 33 years here on earth as the Son of God and the Son of Man. He experienced childhood, brothers and sisters, mother and father, cousins; grew as a young carpenter’s son, did manual labor, and then, for three years he taught, healed, and raised some from the dead.

He experienced doubt, shame, pain, suffering, and due tothis he can be the most intimate intercessor that all of us need. He dealt with an adulterous woman, prideful Pharisees, the woman at the well who had numerous husbands, dealt with the desecration within the temple, fed tens of thousands from virtually nothing, calmed the sea when his disciples were fearful. He had compassion on the demon possessed, the sick, the poor, the needy, the lonely, the homeless and healed their infirmities. In others he experienced faith and lack of faith. When the going got tough, he saw many of so-called disciples turn away from following him.

Because he experienced it firsthand, he knows how to intercede for us. What is it that you are experiencing now that needs your Mighty Intercessor to plead on your behalf before the Father? What does he need to direct the Holy Spirit to do in your circumstances. There is nothing we face today, absolutely nothing, that he did not experience personally, through others or to himself. We would be more than foolish if we depended upon our own strength and not rely on the all-powerful intercession of Jesus. He would move heaven and earth if it meant to bring healing, joy, peace, whatever to his beloveds. For him to go as far as he did to die for us and suffer extreme cruelty, don’t you think his intersessions/pleadings are absolutely heartfeltand powerful.

He’s not a God that sits in heaven and watches the plight of his creation. No, he is intimately involved in every detail of our lives, to bring glory to his Father, and to accomplish the will of his Father. Had he not come to earth, we could sort of question whether he really understands our pain. But we have a Lord that is passionate about us. He has provided prayer and the word, fellowship in the Spirit, all brought about by his continual intercession for the Church, his Bride. He has left no stone unturned. Plead your case before the Lord, being thankful that he knows everything you need and what is best for you. The One who created the heavens and earth from nothing can easily meet your earthly and eternal needs. Trust him!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love, he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ…” (Eph. 1. 1-5a).

Rejoice O adopted ones, Christ is interceding even as you are reading this. Amen and Hallelujah!!
