The battle, or at least enmity, between Ishmael and Isaac continues even today. We see it being played out in so many ways. The conflicts are ongoing, even now. From what I have been taught and learned through the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, it will continue until Christ returns and brings the new heaven, the new earth, and the new Jerusalem. None of us should be surprised.

So, what are we to do in the meantime? Certainly, we are to pray for reconciliation, for salvation for the lost no matter what religion, the suffering, elected and appointed leaders, for the church all over the world. Just go read Psalms. It’ll tell you what to pray for. And pray them. Make them personal. God has given us prayer for a purpose, and there is victory through prayer. Maybe start with Psalm 20 this week.

The blackest day in all of the history of mankind was outside Jerusalem, on that cross where Jesus died and assured victory. It appeared Satan had won but in God’s realm, it was the victory of victories for the Kingdom. Now, he is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for Ishmael’s and Isaac’s descendants. The Father wants no one to perish without knowing his Son, the Savior of the world. John 3.16

Sin has created this enmity between good and evil, between man and God, between non-believer and believer. But there is hope, and hope does not disappoint us. Grace through faith is our strongest weapon in this cosmic battle. Paul said…“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Tim. 4.7). As we move through these seemingly uncertain and dark times, let us stay strong. For we know that we are secure in Christ. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will  help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isa. 41.10).

Easter is the evidence that “God wins”! Therefore, we win! Let me hear a loud hallelujah!!
